Implementing player-specific feedback

The game/software Farm Rescue: Tomato Trialsprovides (bio)statistics students with the experience of designing an experiment and collecting their own unique dataset in a cost- and hassle-free way. Tomato Trials incorporates complex structural experimental elements to more realistically reflect the conditions experienced in a research scenario. The user choices have a direct link to the statistical analysis choices they will have to make as the user choices they are asked to make will inherently be linked to the structural choices of the designs.

The main aim of this project is to develop player-specific reactive feedback to the user-chosen experimental design (e.g., D-optimality etc.). In addition, the project will focus on developing a workflow for automated feedback focusing on appropriately estimating and accounting for all sources of variation in the virtual experiment.

Familiarity with experimental design techniques and good programming skills are expected.
